Dhamma Sobhana Vipassana Meditation Center

One of the most intense 10 days in my life. I spent there my second course together with my beloved one and after we talked a lot about how silent and peaceful this place is. We will wanted to attend the course before our baby is born and we are really thankful we could make it there. It is in distant countryside with one empty road with minimum traffic, so you have all what you need to develop your meditation skills. It is operating since 2002 and is visited by meditators from all around the globe. You can imagine that positive vibrations the walls there are experiencing there. People who built this centre can be very proud the created a land of hope for all the human kind. When we will have time, we will definitely come to serve, because they deserve it there :)

Love this place, I've been here seven times for Vipassana-courses, and will probably return again. For me the best time has been in July when the forest is flourishing and you still can hear the birds singing but not so intense as in June. If you have time before or after the course, make a visit to Omberg and/or lake Tåkern, one of Swedens greatest bird lakes.

A fantastic center and a fantastic experience. Donation based fee. The center gives you a unique opportunity to try out a life where only you and your mind exist for 10 days. All food is prepared for you at specific appointed times during the day. You may not communicate with other participants, neither are mobile phones, books etc. allowed. Thanks to this, you are able to devote all your time to meditation (vipassana), which is taught progressively during the course. If you life a typical urban, stressful and career focused life, combined with that somewhat uneasy feeling that "this can be it.. there has to be more to life then doing this thing (i.e. job) over and over until death", I cant emphazise going to this place enough. Entering the depths of your mind through hours and hours of meditation, insight of behavioral patterns that must be broken to start to live life again will come. This, along with an amazing tool to do just that, is just mind blowing and SO worth 10 days of your life. So skip the Mallorca trip and go for this instead. Although, I must warn you, it is hard mental work and some days will be rather harsh. However, it'll get better along the course. Good luck !
