Uppsala Yoga School is a nursery where you can grow, blossom. You get nourishment, space and guidance to become and be who you are meant to be, the whole you. Get your feet firmly rooted on Earth, but access to the entire universe. The yoga classes prepare you to relax on all levels. A typical 90-minute class starts with about an hour of physical yoga positions (asana) so that you can move and release tension, restlessness or resistance that may have settled in the body. You create space, stretch out, find the playful and curious. Lets the body relax and anchors you in the here and now. Then we continue with breathing exercises (pranayama) to balance the nervous system and energy. The class ends with yoga nidra deep relaxation and/or meditation. In this way, the whole of you is prepared to come to rest on all levels. When you calm down, you can approach life in a grounded way. You see clearly what you want and what is important to you, you become present, aware and can face life with calmness and compassion. From the heart. We give you both methods, energy and an encouraging community (sanga) to help you explore life and see how the practices of yoga can lead you to live the life you want.
