Whether a private course tailored for your health and objectives or in small group classes, Indiv Yogaâ„¢ will assess & adjust according to your strengths & limitation for the healthy balance of body & mind.Charlie works mainly with private clients and runs workshops, retreats and yoga teacher training courses. When in Switzerland she holds small group classes in the Nyon studio, giving individual adjustments and attention throughout.

With over 17 years of yoga experience, Charlie took her focus to incorporating the traditional scientific & spiritual teachings of yoga to our stressful, unhealthy modern lives. Her method pays particular attention to the various physical, mental & overall health differences in each of us and teaches each practitioner to be mindful and understand the correct balance in our bodies & minds. Indiv Yogaâ„¢ blends hatha, sivananda & ashtanga yoga methods so each individual can make their own personal connection to yoga & how it can work for them. There is no religion, competition, judgement, dogma or stress allowed!

GROUP STUDIO YOGA CLASSES

In 2001, Patrick Nolfo founded the YogaCenter collaboration with Christophe Steiger.After only a few months of activity, he noticed that this school responded to a strong demand and encouraged by this first success, he undertakes to organize various retreats of young yoga in France at the Castle of Roche sur Linotte.

In 2004 the YC proposed his 1st yoga retreat in the South of, then he continued with retreats in Switzerland, Thailand, Greece, Martinique, Corsica and Italy.In 2005 Patrick set up a yoga school at the YogaCenter to train teachers in Yoga. He set up a three-year course that welcomes each year a new volley in September.In 2015, the YogaCenter concept is exported abroad through various master class interventions in various Yoga schools around the world.

Everyone can practice yoga if one has the deep desire to lead a healthier and more complete life. To understand what yoga is, it is necessary to experience it ourselves. The term "yoga" (Sanskrit) can be understood as the "union", "integration"or "harnessing" of the body to the soul for collection and concentration, or for getting into the divine. The origin of yoga can be traced back about 5000 years and is one of the six classical schools ofn philosophy. Originally, yoga was a purely spiritual path that sought the search for enlightenment through meditation.

There are many different forms of yoga, often with their own philosophy and practice. In Western Europe and North America, the concept of yoga often refers to physical exercises, the asanas or yogasanas. Their primary goal is to strengthen and mobilize the body so that it can remain as free as possible for a long period in the meditation seat (eg Lotossitz). Over time, however, one recognized the positive effect of physical exercise on the overall well-being of man.

Yoga offers a comprehensive way to bring physical and mental energies to the flow. Through the asanas (body exercises), the body is strengthened and stretched, the circulation is stimulated and the internal organs are massaged. The blood channels are supplied with oxygen, the body detoxifies and the immune system is strengthened. When performing the exercises, the regular flow of the air is the main focus. The mind is calmly reconciled with the body.

In order for yoga to work, the environment should also be right. Our studio at Steinberggasse 61 is located in the heart of the old town of Winterthur, a 5-minute walk from the main train station of Winterthur. We provide yogamats and various aids. Bring comfortable training clothes, we train barefoot. Cloakrooms are available. If it is your first visit, please come to the studio 10 minutes before the beginning of the lesson.

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism.Geshe-La, as he is affectionately called by his students, is primarily responsible for the worldwide revival of Kadampa Buddhism in our time.

From the age of eight Geshe-la studied extensively in the great monastic universities of Tibet and earned the title ‘Geshe’, which literally means ‘spiritual friend’. Under the guidance of his Spiritual Guide, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, he then spent the next eighteen years in meditation retreats in the Himalayas.

In 1977 he accepted an invitation to teach at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in England, where he lived and taught for over 30 years, giving teachings and guidance to an ever-growing group of disciples.

In Fall 2013, Geshe-La gave his last public teachings and granted the empowerment of Buddha Prajnaparamita in Portugal. Thanks to Geshe-La’s amazing kindness, every year there are several International Kadampa Festivals throughout the world and there are attended by thousands of people.

He has published a series of remarkable books on Buddhism and meditation, from basic introductory books to advanced philosophical texts and meditation manuals.Geshe-La has established three unique study programmes and 1100 centres and groups around the world, trained hundreds of qualified Teachers and a flourishing ordained community, and created the International Temple Project to build Buddhist Temples in every major city in the world.

In his teachings Geshe Kelsang emphasizes the importance of meditation and how to apply it in daily life, the need to be truly happy, and how to cultivate a good heart to help others — and he demonstrates these qualities perfectly in his own life.

Asana means the execution of body positions to the solution of physical stresses and tensions. Only consciously performed physical exercises in conjunction with the breathing help to bring both mind, soul and the body into a state of relaxation. Just as human beings live in a world of duality and are exposed to ebb and flow, day and night, these poles also find themselves in a yoga lesson, tension and relaxation, position and opposition.
