Community Learning Center CLC Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) Brief History of CLC Wat Arun ​ On March 2004, Founder of JWS 60 Foundation – Mr. Walter Stowe and Mrs. Janet Stowe – adopted two Thai siblings, who are orphans, as their grandchildren. Through their foundation, they decided to help more orphans, poor and under-privileged children/youths in Thailand through Center Buddha Dhamma Practice and International Charity of Wat Arun Rajawararam. Through their foundation, a boarding Learning Center (school) was built to assist and support those children/youths. The construction was completed in September 2006. On September 19th, 2006, the Ministry of Education (Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education for Special Target Group) announced the establishment and legality of Community Learning Center for Development of Humanity at Center for Buddha Dhamma Practice and International Charity, Section 6 of Wat Arun Rajawararam (The Temple of Dawn). ​ Phra Methiratanadilok, Assistant Abbot and Leader of Section 6 of Wat Arun Rajawararam has been supporting the project. He is the Chairman of Cemmittee and Director of the CLC ever since. He is also the Chairman of Center for Buddha Dhamma Practice and International Charity. Community Learning Center for Development of Humanity Center for Buddha Dhamma Practice and International Charity Mission and Objectives To help orphans, poor and disadvantaged children & youths receive equal opportunity in education To prevent children and youths from being trafficked and abused To help those youths to receive proper employment upon finishing their study and training with us To provide scholarships as an option to continue their higher education in Bachelor Degree To teach and train children & youths in right and good morality, ethics, discipline and self-development through the mind in order to be good citizens in the society To maintain and promote Thai culture and tradition For Better Community ​Our Center also supports our students and the public to do many social activities such as cleaning communities, providing donation and hosting lunch/dinner for orphans and mentally/physically handicapped children, worldwide disaster relief support, free emergency/First Aid Relief at Section 6 of Wat Arun and many others activities.
