Amazing experience, excellent crew and care for the divers. From start to finish couldn't be handled better in my experience. Even with some weather uncertainty they handled the situation beautifully and made sure that we could make our dives, of course with all safety precautions.

Came here to learn how to dive, followed by a day out to dive with friends. Our instructor was Angel and he was patient, knowledgeable and very responsible. He followed the rules set out but also made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We also had the chance to dive with another instructor, Julie, who was also very knowledgeable. They both taught us how to dive, and pointed out how we can improve some of our techniques. At the dive spots, they would tell us what we could see, and pointed out interesting creatures for us to take note. The ship itself was very clean, crew was very helpful (remember to tip them), and cooked really nice meals for the trips. Would definitely find them again!

This course was amazing! I completed my last dive to certify today! I absolutely LOVED my instructor, Julie! She’s incredible and has 30 years of diving experience!! She made my experience more enjoyable and informative so I couldn’t recommend her as an instructor more!!! This was a beautiful experience and I will definitely be back to do my Advanced Open Water Course with Julie!

LDT is great. Phil and crew will take care of your diving needs. If your a vacation diver, they offer the best rates in Phuket, only need to purchase 9 dives. They are a big boat(as are most in the area) so the boat and water can be crowded at times.

Professional boat manager, organised. Provide clear not coerced instructions. The 3 days dive package with excellent breakfast, lunch , snack of thb 9900 is unbeatable. So blessed to have the experienced Dive guide (years of being a dive instructor) Bon who is attentive but not micromanaging. Knows when to do what with whom. Different customer has different needs, she knows how to manage. The boat crew are helpful, diligent. Everyday‘s trip operation is streamlined, starting from on time pick up, to little waiting time at jetty to gear up and organised dive schedule [boat would ring the bell to let customers know when to get ready to gear up, which car/van to get on etc], boat is never messy even though with full of 40+ people. Unfortunately the daily trip to say Racha runs alternative day, so as I started my 3 day dives on a Friday, sat to Phi Phi , Sunday I'm back on Racha again. so I only ended up doing only 2 days dive, instead of 3 days as not keen to go back to Racha, same spot again on Sunday. Look forward to coming back to dive with you , but will stick with Bon only ! She is the best !!!!

I have lived in Phuket off and on for several years now. FINALLY, I took the time to practice and receive me open water certification with LOCAL DIVE. Even though I have been a water person my entire life, my first lessons in breathing underwater in the were a disaster for me. I just could not do it...even though I have snorkled all my life. My two pool instructors Sophii and Justin could not have been more patient. Seems that i am not the first one to question the ability to breathe underwater. After this initial issue we went on to open water dives, first walking into the sea from the beach and then deeper dives off the boat. I cannot convey strongly enough the professionalism, safety consciousness, and joy this group brings to all their guests. My open water dives on their dive boat were sublime and engaging...the equipment all first class, and the support and comradery out of this world. In a few short days I went a total beginner to 18 meters deep watching incredible sea life along the reefs. I cannot recommend Local Dive highly enough. Excellent dive shop. Well organised boat trip - pick up on time, good briefing and drop off at hotel quickly. Abundance food for everyone - including free Coca Cola, lunch, breakfast and tea break. Boat boys super strong - able to drag us back to boat fast even with 4 person holding onto the rope. Dive guides very experience - show seahorses, ghost pipefishes, yellow box fishes, cuttlefish, etc. Dive guides very good in air - dive 20m for 50 mins with baby tank. Will not hesitate to book another 3-day package with dive shop at only 9,900 THB (9 dives).

3 days diving to different spots. Good and professional service, interesting dives with plenty to see. The boat is large and be prepared for long boat journeys. It is comfortable on deck, breakfast and lunch served and plenty of water or coke, tea and coffee. The instructors are professional and fin and will show you what this slice of the Indian Ocean has to offer.

I found the shop by walking past after lunch one day. I had dived with another company a few days before after a break of 20 years and needed a refresher. I wasn't that happy so decided to chat with someone else. I was met by Justin and after explaining my diving history and what I was thinking of doing he advised me to not waste my money and that I would be better with a pool based refresher, I booked in for the following day and had a few hours with Justin and he identified the issues quickly. We spent time working on these and I saw improvements. I discussed what to do next and we decided that a PADI specialty course would be best. My instructor for the course was Kwan, who was fantastic. We discussed the outline of the course and what we would do. We had very comprehensive pre dive briefings so that I was clear of what she expected from me. Her coaching style was perfect for me, clear concise instructions and straightforward feedback. Under the water she provided feedback and did some real time corrections. At the end of the 3 dives I can honestly say that I made a lot of improvements and would highly recommend Kwan, Justin and Local Dive Thailand to anyone seeking high quality dive instruction or trips.

Cannot recommend Local dive Thailand enough. This dive shop is absolutely amazing. So thankful for Kwan, our diving instructor/guide. She was one of the best teachers, regardless of subject, I’ve ever had! She made diving totally accessible to me, despite my initial fear of the activity. Kwan is skilled, observant, patient, humble, and so unbelievably talented. Ask for her to be your guide! You won’t regret it. Noon, the owner, is also super on top of making sure the customer has a good time. She was communicative and made sure none of the logistics caused us any headaches. If you plan to dive in Phuket, do it with Local Dive Thailand! And if you aren’t planning to dive in Phuket, you most certainly should!
