The Life Centre Notting Hill

Quite simply, Phillipa is a superb instructor. Her class requires such concentration that the rest of the world falls away. The movements are continuous but steady and precise. Her instruction is finely honed from years of experience, demonstrated by her own expert practice and delivered in an assured and definite voice that is in itself energizing and inspirational. She gives a challenging class, to be sure, but a careful and thoughtful one, for she believes yoga should be an enduring and sustaining practice.

I don’t get why people rave about it. I have never been so disappointed in yoga teachers in London. I tried 6 teachers at lifestyle center and all of them were uninspiring and had such basic sequences that I really thought I was in an old people home back in the 80s. I tried hundreds of classes in Other studios in London, LA and always felt both spiritually and physically awakened while lifestyle centre brought absolutely nothing. I also hated that a few teachers were pretty bossy and patronising. Very disappointing as was so hoping it would be different. I have trial package and want to ask a refund. The only positive is a beautiful studio with skylight.

The concept is great, the schedule brimming with classes but boy do they pack the yogis in to uncomfortable limits. There is an air of arrogance around - from some of the teachers through to the reception staff. I want to love it, but I just can’t.

Lovely studios, peaceful calming friendly and welcoming. Very limited class choices however each teacher I tried was fantastic Not busy and pushy - very good place if you want calm yoga not commercial yoga

This yoga centree is outstanding. I have taken three classed a day and I feel reinvigorated. They have about 8-10 classed each day and of these about 50 % are of different charactere. The teachers are so good and excellent in teaching and follow up the movement of each pupil. The classes that I found most amazing was yin yoga and vinyasa yoga. I've been yoging for years, tried both this and that, and I must say the teachers are outstanding. Where do they find these dedicated people? So, if you are longing for yoga in London, try this place which is located in Nottinghill. Just 5 minutes walk from the underground station. Another plus- the changing area is fresh.

I like to keep up my yoga practice when traveling and I was glad to find this studio located in Notting Hill, an easy 1 mile walk from my hotel in South Kensington. I was greeted warmly by the staff and was able to purchase an introductory 2 week pass which was an excellent value. I took 5 classes here during my stay in London. The studio is very down to earth - no gimmicks, no glitz, no pretense - and seems to attract students of all ages and abilities. There is a wide number of classes and styles offered throughout the day, although I only attended the early morning classes. Mats and props are provided, and shower facilities are available. The studio floor could have been a touch cleaner, but that's a minor quibble; the room itself was bright and pleasant. The quality of the instruction was outstanding, and that's really what counts - all 4 of the instructors I had were professional, experienced, and attuned to the needs of the students.

Lovely place to take some yoga classes. They have a lot of choice in the kind of classes you would like to follow. The teacher are friendly and knowledgeable. Been to 5 classes in 5 days which were all great. Especially the Iyengar class from Megan!
