The Sanctuary Yoga And Pilates Studio
If you would like to join our Sanctuary Living Arts Studio co-op community donâ€™t hesitate to contact us to discuss your idea. We are located in a vital and diverse community close to downtown Gunnison. We are 5 minutes walk from Main Street and 10 minutes walk from Western State Colorado University. Our space is usable for a wide range of group activities. A Tai Chi class, room rental for massage, maybe a meditation or pranayama class would all be a good fit. All classes are promoted through our contact lists and marketed via our website and social media channels.
Each co-op member teacher is responsible for Provide proof of teaching certifications and a copy of your Liability Insurance to Leia Morrison ( via email or hard copy). Only teachers that have gone through a certification, an official teacher training program or those who are currently enrolled in such program can be a member of the Sanctuary co-op. Those not filling these requirements may choose to be on the substitute list.
Attend a quarterly co-op meeting.Maintain professional affiliations with organizations such as Yoga Alliance.Collect money â€“ a set class fee of $10 has been established. Teachers may choose to accept credit cards â€“ if so, you will need to do that independently. Teachers may also choose to set up a â€œpunch cardâ€ system to offer multiple classes to students, however the set â€œperâ€ class fee of $10 must not change.
Ensure that all students have a signed waiver on file Market your own classes & workshops â€“ this includes providing the Executive Director with bio, class description, notice of class cancellations, etc.
- Kundalini Yogaâ€“ Awaken your lifeforce energy! This Kundalini yoga class incorporates physical movement, pranayam, and mantra (sound vibration) to enhance awareness and create lasting benefits for the practitioner. All levels!
- Brown Bag It â€“ 45 minutes devoted to what counts. Come get your â€œwork inâ€, transcending those regressive patters that we spend so much time on (desks, repetitive sports motions, stress, ect). This class is for ALL levels and abilities!
- Alignment Based Yoga- This energetic class will explore the energetic practice of vinyasa: the linking of body movement with breath. Sweat out toxins and re-energize your body.Appropriate for advanced beginners/intermediate
- Hathentic Yogaâ€“ Suitable for all levels. Hatha is a potent alignment-oriented practice that emphasizes the forms and actions within yoga postures. Traditional asanas are held in accurate alignment. â€¦ This class is based on physical postures (asanas), deep breathing, mindfulness and listening to the body. All levels welcome.
