I have had Lyme disease and various other chronic and auto-immune conditions for decades. I searched high and low for a retreat center that could truly assist me in my healing journey. I had always had a special connection with the Big Island of Hawaii and after speaking with Dr. Kelsey on the phone, as well as Nicolette, I chose to spend about 3 weeks at their Kapoho Sancutuary retreat house outside of Pahoa.
They facilitated an easy arrival, picked me up at the Hilo airport, and were very friendly from the moment I stepped foot into the house. The house is not fancy by any means, simple but comfortable accommodations. I was fine with this, knowing that the cost to participate in this program is truly about the therapies they offer, not about the house itself. I loved all of the therapists, with the exception of one. There is no such thing as a perfect program, and I certainly experienced a few hiccups throughout my time there, but it wouldn't stop me from going back again and spending another 2 weeks or a month even.
This is definitely the type of treatment program that you can cater to your own needs. By no means are you ever made to feel that you "must" do this or that, just because they make a recommendation. It's important to advocate for yourself around what you feel safe and comfortable doing. That being said, I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried as much as I could. Everything from colonics to hypnotherapy to yoni steaming and more. The program is really and truly mind, body, and soul between all of the holistic psychotherapies and breath-work in addition to the IV therapies. I loved the food too.
I would recommend this program to those seeking a calm and well-rounded experience to facilitate physical and emotional well-being.
