Sattvic Space was created for the community, by the community. Countless volunteers from Portsmouth and our surrounding cities came together donating time, talents and funds to make this space possible. The studio started as a vision, it would not have come to fruition without the selfless donation and encouragement of people just like you. Our mission is to create a space, which brings emotional, spiritual, and physical healing and unity within our community. AYURVEDIC CONSULTATIONS A holistic mind, body and spirit approach to health, Ayurveda is’s traditional system of medicine, and is believed to be around 5,000 year old. It is considered to be the longest continuously practiced system of medicine in the world. Long before blood tests, MRIs, CAT scans, EKGs, and x-rays, there was the eightfold examination process provided by a trained Ayurvedic practitioner. The consultation consists of examining these eight areas of the body and bodily functions, all of which reveal places of balance and imbalance. The practitioner will check or ask questions about a client’s pulse, bodily eliminations, tongue, internal bodily sounds, eyes, nails and general appearance. After the evaluation is complete, the practitioner will make clear suggestions as to which Ayurvedic practices can be adopted to maintain a life of balance. These may include daily self-care routines, food choices, yoga techniques, meditation and movement practices, and herbs. The true aim of Ayurveda is to clear out the emotional clutter in the mind, senses, and body to access your greatest potential for health and a balanced life. Ayurveda is practiced as a compliment to Western medicine, by appointment only. To schedule, please email us or call (757) 655-3322.
