When I step into my mat at Sattva I’m home. Rameen Peyrow has built an amazing studio, practice, and staff that work seamlessly. The focus is the development of a moving meditation practice - something you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re new to the studio it might be helpful to take a beginner class to learn how the classes and sequences are set up. Each month there is a new sequence focusing on either front, back, side, or strength - so each month is like a short course in development of your practice. Although there are always challenging postures in each sequence there is no expectation to do the full posture but to work with whatever modification works for you that particular day. There is no music but you will not miss it. I think it’s only through time and regular practice that you really get what they’re trying to do there. The studio is gorgeous, the committed staff are all on the same page, and it’s well managed. They offer workshops, retreats, teacher training, online classes, outdoor Sunday class, meditation classes, and classes from beginner to advanced. I love the breathing practice( pranayama) and meditation after asana work. When you walk out of there you’re going to feel great! Thanks Rameen for all your work.
