We are so happy to share on this journey of yoga with you. We believe in the power of the individual to heal body and mind through the practice of yoga. We believe that when any individual commits to his or her self on a path of self development and applies the techniques of yoga – both formally and informally throughout all aspects of one’s life – transformation is there. Through self-inquiry and appropriate response in action, balance is attained. Our goal is to provide a space where the Yoga community can grow, and where we each have the opportunity to experience balance, happiness, freedom and peace, leading to an authentic experience of the Self. The SATTVA School of Yoga first opened its doors in 2002 as The Yoga Loft and it was Edmonton’s very first yoga centre. Over the years the studio has evolved and grown into a school of yoga teaching the SATTVA Yoga method – a combination of the practices of Hatha Yoga with Raja Yoga. To learn more about the SATTVA practice and method, visit here. This yoga center and school has been inspired by Rameen’s commitment and love for yoga and meditation. Known for his generosity in sharing the wisdom of yoga, Rameen has a heart-filled approach to his teachings and has dedicated his life to the path of yoga. In addition to directing the school and teaching at the studio, Rameen travels to inspire teachers and practitioners, teaching on-going workshops and teacher trainings all across Canada. All of The SATTVA School of Yoga teachers are SATTVA teacher training certified and are highly qualified students and teachers of Yoga who want to share with you their own direct experience with Yoga. We feel very blessed and honored to share this tradition and practice with you.
Studio Panorama The SATTVA School of Yoga is located in the heart of Edmonton’s Old Strathcona district in the Roots on Whyte Building on the corner of 82 Avenue and 102 Street (across from the Mac’s convenience store!). We are up on the third floor of the Roots building, offering a 3,200 square foot space. We have two practice rooms, a boutique, a cozy seating area, and men’s and women’s changerooms, each with showers and washrooms. Our yoga centre is an eco-friendly studio, we use only non-toxic cleaning products to clean the studio. At the Roots Building, we offer underground heated parking (accessible from the alley on 102 street) with plenty of free street parking on surrounding streets.
