Samantha's retreats include classes with local teachers and cultural exchange to give back to the community. The daily yoga class is taught by Zac who is one of the best and most popular teachers in Nosara.
Something that is very important to her as a traveler and retreat leader is giving back to the places she visits and to the local communities. Her goal is to leave places better than when you arrived!
Start your mornings with coffee, tea, fresh tropical fruit, and juice in your Villa. Each day you will have a Pilates class taught by Sam and a yoga class taught by Zac. The days will differ slightly, and the exact schedule will be provided closer to the retreat date.
What you can plan on is a group surf lesson, community service project, jungle hike to Bodhi Tree Resort where you will do a Reformer Pilates class and enjoy their fabulous juice bar, and an evening Sound Healing journey.
Of course, there will be lots of free time for other activities (which they can arrange for you) such as massages or other bodywork, horseback riding on the beach, a zipline tour, SUP, ATV tour through the jungle, shopping, a visit to the monkey sanctuary, walks on the beach, swims in the ocean or relaxing at the private pool.
In the evenings, you are invited to share the magical sunsets on the beach with the local community. For dinner, there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance of the villas. You will have a group dinner plan each evening, but of course, you are welcome to enjoy dinner on your own if you prefer.
The organization they've chosen in Nosara is called Costas Verdes. She will work with them to plant trees on the beach, which brings nature back to the area.

Spend your day surfing, horseback riding, paddleboarding, relaxing by the plunge pool, ziplining, walking the beach or jungle paths, getting a massage, swimming, or chilling in a hammock.
Unwind in the afternoon with a yin yoga class and watch a stunning beach sunset. Enjoy homemade meals at the villas on the first and last nights, and dine at local restaurants on other evenings.

From 2000 to 2023, I had the privilege of owning and operating The Cypress Center, one of the first facilities in the Los Angeles area to integrate Pilates with physical therapy. This experience, along with over 20 years of training and guidance from my mentor, Rael Isacowitz, has shaped my holistic approach to wellness and rehabilitation.

Nosara, on Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula, is known for its waves, yoga studios, healthy food, and international community.
Our retreat venue, Nalu Nosara in Playa Guiones, features villas with 2 or 3 bedrooms, spa bathrooms, open living areas, kitchens, and private saltwater pools. Villas include washers, dryers, dishwashers, and kitchenware. Linens, towels, air-conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi are provided.
The property is surrounded by lush gardens and local wildlife. Classes are held in the open-air fitness studio, and the beach is a short walk away.
"Nalu" means "wave" in Hawaiian, symbolizing going with the flow. "Pura Vida," a Costa Rican saying, means eternal optimism and embracing the flow, a theme of this retreat.
