The story of InnerSea Yoga Academy begins with you. Your true nature, your essence, your Source, your Light. For each of us is a manifestation of pure awareness, of unconditional love; That is our natural state. What draws us out of this ocean of wisdom is that we falsely identify as separate. We cling tightly to small aspects of ourselves, constantly changing pieces, and the effort to hold on is so great that we suffer as a result. It is like trying to catch a waterfall in your hands — a futile attempt to hold what is outside ourselves… Until we turn within. Until we seek the ocean of wisdom that is the depth of our soul.
Our mission at InnerSea Yoga Academy is to provide the teaching and support you need to connect to the innate Truth that already lies within you.
We began this journey under the name of Gypsea Yoga School as we are all in a constant state of change and becoming, and the sea is where we find connection and profound bliss. However, this identity has proven to be shallower than intended, as the changing aspects of ourselves are such a small portion of our whole being. In fact, the ever-steady consciousness (Brahman in Sanskrit) is the totality of existence. We already are Pure Awareness. Our new brand, InnerSea Yoga Academy, reflects this teaching.
The Campus, Hospedaje El Bosquecito, is situated on a quiet section of the main road of Uvita. The off-campus housing, Casa Nativos, is situated near the waterfall, just off the main road of Uvita. Both are located right beside a small creek and forest, guests have the pleasure of being up close to birds, toucans, monkeys, sloths, and iguanas. The sound of the water brings a tranquil atmosphere. Restaurants, banks, and other services are a short walk away.
The accommodations offer guests a serene and peaceful home away from home experience. Each student gets their own bed, (there is no bed sharing). The rooms are equipped with full bathrooms and windows that open to beautiful jungle scenery.
Although hot water is not plumbed into the main house, They do have a hot water shower on site available to all. However, the cool water showers are a welcome treat after a long hot day. Wifi is accessible from the rooms and throughout the house. Fall asleep to the sound of a babbling brook right outside your window!

The accommodations offer an intimate secluded piece of paradise with fresh young coconuts at your disposal. Wake to a plethora of beautiful hummingbirds greeting you in the morning. The night prior to the first day of class is included in your course fee.
