Virginia Marie Yoga

For me, yoga started as a supplement to strengthen other activities - swimming in high school, rowing in college, and distance running as an adult. Yoga became my primary practice when I became pregnant and couldn't run as much as I had anticipated. After the birth of my son, Dario, yoga was there for me during my transition into motherhood.  This is where I began to appreciate all that I could accomplish and enjoy through yoga. 

Yoga was, and continues to be, my oasis away from the constant needs of being a mother, a wife, other people's something. And because of yoga, and my dedication to my (almost) daily practice, I am a better mom, wife, other people's something. When I am my best self, I am better to others. Often people forget to take care of themselves and then just out of blue, on a random day where maybe nothing out of the ordinary happened, they look around and ask themselves, Where did I go? 

When not doing yoga or teaching yoga you'll find me running around with my boys, drinking coffee, listening to a good thriller, eating tacos, going for a walk on the beach, swimming in the ocean on hot sunny days, looking up on dark, starry nights.

Spend time with you again, come back to your breath; your body and soul welcome you back with love and compassion.
