Dhamma Setu Vipassana Meditation Centre
Dhamma Arunachala Vipassana Meditation Centre
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results. There are no charges for the courses - not even to cover the cost of food and accommodation. All expenses are met by donations from people who, having completed a course and experienced the benefits of Vipassana, wish to give others the opportunity to also benefit.

Sadhguru is a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters. A fearless rebel from the start, his childhood was punctuated with solitary forays into the jungle for days at a stretch, snake-catching and class cutting. In youth, his blunt clarity into life made him an unofficial counselor to his problem-ridden college mates. His love of adventure led him on motorcycle expeditions, and his early business endeavors into poultry farming and construction were met with success. Just when you’ve summed him up as a cool maverick, he surprises you with a gentle side that can shed tears of compassion and extract laughter from hardened faces. Equally at home with bright-eyed village children, ash-smeared yogis and top-notch executives, Sadhguru defies any narrow description. With a keen mind, balanced by a heart that knows no boundary, he infects his zest for life into all who seek to live their lives to the fullest.
For all of the strides we have made in science and technology, with standards of living unimaginable a century ago, most human beings still remain in search of wholeness and purpose in their lives. Sadhguru has often said that “society is overripe for a spiritual process.†His fundamental vision is to offer the science of inner wellbeing to every human being – a science vitally helping realize the ultimate potential within. From this vision stem a multitude of projects, programs, and methods, all towards the same aim: to raise every human being to the peak of their potential, be exuberant, all-inclusive, in harmony within themselves and the world.
Perhaps Sadhguru’s mission is most succinctly summarized in his own paradoxical words: “I have no mission of my own. It is just that when you see a certain need around you, you do what you can do – that’s all. But I have a dream, that someday, walking on a street anywhere in the world, I would be able to meet lots of enlightened or realized beings. That would be the greatest blessing to happen to the world.

Iyengar Yoga Dipam Chennai
Yoga Dipam is the premier Iyengar Yoga institute in Chennai that presents the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, considered the foremost authority of yoga in modern times. His approach develops self-awareness through precision in the physiological structure and attention to the subtleties of body, breath, and mind. Iyengar Yoga readily accommodates students of all ages, body types, capacities, and medical histories. No one is too old, too stiff or out of shape-all that is required is keen willingness to learn and a genuine curiosity about the subject . Authentic Iyengar certified teachers are unparalleled in their rigorous and consistent training
Stemming from the depths of his own rigorous practice, Iyengar’s teachings have systematically evolved precise posture (asana) and breathing (pranayama) techniques with a firm philosophical base; according to this unique perspective, asana and pranayama are the means by which the practice of yoga can be internalized. This method of yoga is recognized for its thorough exploration of poses as they relate to the physical, emotional, spiritual, physiological and psychological aspects of each individual student. Yogic studies in the iyengar tradition move from gross to subtle. Since one’s gross physical body that includes arms, legs , the spine etc is readily tangible and perceptible to everybody, instructions directed at this level can easily be understood by one and all. With time, the practice transitions to a deeper plane that addresses the organic body and mind.
As the practice matures, the student is refined in their study of the subject and can penetrate it with a more mature and holistic approach. Practice of pranayama begins around this time as students can understand and relate to aspects of breath training. Practitioners readily realize that the subject is not just physical but in fact a deep subtle approach that undoubtedly requires the integration and application of the mind. Iyengar’s teachings are deeply grounded in the yoga sutras of Patanjali, an ancient summation of the path of yoga considered to be at least 5,000 years old.
