How to Get There
On National Highway 47, drive past Chennai International Airport towards Tambaram. Cross Pallavaram Bus Stand and proceed upto Pond's Factory (a factory making talcum powder) on your left. Immediately take a right turn towards Thiruneermalai. From here, keep following the 'Vipassana Meditation Centre' roadsigns for the next 6.5 kilometres and you will reach the Centre which is located quite close to the SIDCO Leather Complex. Top
Reaching By Bus
Take a bus from any part of Chennai that goes towards Tambaram and get down at Pallavaram Bus Stand. From there, board bus route no. 55A and get down at SIDCO bus stop. The Centre is a 5-minute walk from here. Some bus conductors may be kind enough to drop you closer to the Centre. (Some locals refer to the Centre as 'Buddhar Kovil').

Very good vibe filled Vippasana meditation center. May feel like it is not the best of locations for a meditation center considering it is directly under the runway exit of Chennai airport and is surrounded by some manufacturing industries- but it helps develop a very strong focus, if persistent!! The center needs some attention on its infrastructure in terms of plumbing and electrical appliances. The teachers visiting the center are gems! The center manager has an indifferent attitude at times which needs to be ignored.
Life will change after 10 days of course like magic it heals, it calms. The only thing is that we should keep up the practice after going home. NICE place, room, environment, Dharma hall, food and calm place, some say mosquito bite, but they also provide bed net; above all meditation is wonderful and the discourse everyday 1 hour. I have started seeing the real and unreal things around me.
If you have 10 days time in a year, you can spend it here... If I do the technique (which taught here) in the morning, the whole day seems fresh day... If I get some headache or some other small pains, I try this technique... It is quite handy at sometimes...
