I enrolled in this programme in the beginning of my 8th month of pregnancy. I wanted to have a personal yoga mentor as I wanted to get prepared for my labour better.
My classes started with the introduction from bharathi and I was very glad to know that she was both a yoga instructor as well as childbirth educator. Bharathi enquired regarding my complete pregnancy history before starting the classes. I was very glad because the approach was very similar to the approach that i follow here with the midwives in the Netherlands.
Every class commenced with bharathi asking me how I felt and every session seemed to be customized according to how my energy levels were during that day and I felt really comfortable to follow her thorough instructions . Be it asanas, pranayama or meditation , bharathi provided me detailed information as to why we do it and how we are benefited because of it.
I was given presentations regarding third trimester, symptoms and labour and how I can handle them. I was constantly given positive affirmations in every class which really helped me get prepared for the labour mentally. I religiously followed the workout and diet advice that I was given and it greatly helped me with my labor and it sure is helping me during my postpartum as well.
Two days after my due date, My water broke during one of the yoga sessions and in a few hours I delivered my baby vaginally. My labour was short like I wished for and I could incorporate all the techniques that I learnt as my contractions progressed and labour commenced.
The abundant information that was provided really helped me and I was very confident both physically and mentally as and when my due date was nearing . I am very glad that I found this programme and I really wished that I had joined sooner. I would highly recommend this to my friends and family
