I was a health and fitness conscious thanks to my mom , was always interested in Human body , was into more of cricket, weight training, aerobics, Yoga was once a week activity, slowly it become part of my life. Thanks to Health and Nutrition magazine which I was associated for more than 12 years , brought me close to Health and Wellness subject and Industry. My yoga practices happened mainly under prominent yoga teachers from Mumbai, names can be shared on enquiry, it was since 2002 I was practicing yoga. Before that in 1999 I was introduced to Transcendental Mediation and Siddhi Mediation under famous and a great soul Kamala Tanha. I am a certified International yoga teacher 500 hrs from Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram , Chennai, year of passing 2018 , also I am one of the very first few teacher to introduce this form yoga to Mumbai, Nagpur , Dharmshala and Ahmedabad. Earlier, realized yoga masters who were renowned for their acquired knowledge, imparted their teachings to their students. Each student later became a teacher and added his own/her knowledge and experience, without diluting the essence of yoga. So what’s the right yoga path ? ..Each individual’s personality is so different that you can’t force him/her to follow a certain form or style. At the end of the day what matters is that the student should feel complete after the practice, that’s how one should choose the right yoga form or style or even teacher. The Traditional way of learning was to spend so much time with your guru, that your guru felt ready to impart the knowledge to other students. Thus in turn, when the time was ripe, a student could become a guru himself. But in a modern scenario the concept of certificates determines one’s teaching ability, which can’t be taken as only one and sole benchmark for quality teaching. Hours and hours of practice and learning them through makes a better teacher along with the certificate. Dedicated and continuous yoga practice since 2002 under prominent yoga teachers along with exposure to other forms of exercises like weight training, cardio , aerobics. And also my introduction to the subject of Health, Wellness, Fitness, Nutrition, Medicines thanks to my close association with Indians leading magazine Health and Nutrition, have certainly helped my understanding of overall well-being.
