Dhamma Paphulla is one of the many centres around the world dedicated to the practice of Vipassana meditationas taught by S. N. Goenka. It is situated in Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka in the southern part of. Residential meditation courses are held here throughout the year. Ten-day courses usually start on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana means to see things as they really are. It is a process of self-purification by self-observation. While taught by the Buddha in 2500 years ago, it is not connected with any specific religion and can be practiced by anyone without conflict with existing religious beliefs or absence of beliefs. Applying for a Course

Vipassana meditation is taught during ten-day residential courses. This period has been found to be the minimum necessary for new students to understand the technique and its benefits through their own experience. To apply for a course please read the Code of Discipline and then find a convenient date in the Course Schedule, and submit an online application form by clicking on the date. Course Finances There is no fee charged for the course.  All expenses, including the cost of food and accommodation, are met by voluntary donations from those who have already completed courses, experienced the benefits of Vipassana and wish to give others the same opportunity. Neither the teacher nor the assistant teachers receive remuneration; they and others who serve on the courses volunteer their time and efforts. A main Dhamma Hall that can accommodate about 100 meditators. Two mini Dhamma Hall that can seat 30 meditators each. A Female Residential block with single/twin occupancy rooms and attached toilets. Cubicle style of accommodation with common bathrooms for males. A Male Residential block with single/twin occupancy rooms and attached toilets is under construction. Residence for the Assistant Teachers. Hot water facility in the bathrooms. Separate walking area for male and female meditators. Separate dining halls for males and females. Kitchen facilities to provide sufficient wholesome vegetarian food for the meditators. Purified drinking water is made available in dining halls and outside the dormitories. (Bottled mineral water can also be purchased for meditators on request during courses). Facility for safekeeping of valuables.
