After practicing yoga for about a year, I decided to go a step further. I wished to touch the lives of others’ with this art and that is when I found Samsara Yoga Studio. Run by Shama Rana, the studio is set up in a very serene part of Pune, away from the hustle and bustle of this busy city.
“When the student is ready the teacher appears”. That is exactly how I felt when I met Shama. She is a warm, patient, kind and dedicated teacher. This is evident when she talked about the various topics in our syllabus. Always a step ahead and very detailed in her explanation. Shama always made sure that I thoroughly understood the chapter in depth instead of rushing onto the next. She is well versed with the knowledge of all aspects of Yoga.
When I joined the RYT 200 course, I thought I would be only learning to teach yoga asanas; not only have I learned the correct form and alignment of each asana, but I have also learnt about the history and philosophy involved with this versatile way of life, along with Pranayam and Meditation practices. The program is so well made, that one leaves Samsara totally confident to spread Yoga in the correct way to any part of the world. I have learnt to be a confident teacher, and am comfortable to take classes as her guidance has strengthened my teaching skills.
Shama is very well connected with her students. Slowing down was the main thing that I have grasped from Shama, nothing is permanent and change is constant, life must go on.
Yoga as a science has changed my life. I would highly recommend this course to everyone who is genuinely interested in learning yoga, (age no bar), to grab this opportunity and evolve in this rat race of today’s world. I hope to extend all my learning to those who seek it.
