KELAPA RETREAT is a modern luxurious boutique hotel comprising of 23 private villas with stunningly large rooms, 16 of which have their own private swimming pool. Set in it’s own very private garden, another larger villa ‘The Kelapa Residence’ has two double bedrooms, living area and full sized private swimming pool. Our newly opened Samudra (Ocean) Spa offers a variety of deeply relaxing massage therapy treatments. Kelapa Retreat is directly situated on an enchanting beach on the edge of the traditional fishing village of Pekutatan in West Bali. It takes approximately two hours from Bali’s International Airport to get to this secluded hideaway (= retreat) amidst a spacious coconut (= kelapa) garden. In contrast to the hustle and bustle which nowadays prevails in manifold tourism venues in Bali, it is the retreat’s foremost aim to provide you with an absolutely peaceful location where you can truly relax in privacy without any hindrance. From the natural surroundings and luxurious facilities to the delicious food, and especially our genuinely charming and professionally-trained Balinese staff, everything has been designed specifically to help you experience the healing energy of the Island of the Gods.
The Kelapa Retreat & Spa focuses on relaxing activities that cause low noise levels so that a truly relaxing and peaceful experience can be assured. Our guests can participate in daily held yoga classes and walk on the endless empty fine silver-grey beach in both directions. Directly opposite the hotel the turquoise waves await for swimming, snorkeling and body-surfing. Boogie boards are freely available for our guests to take whenever they wish. For surfers with a little more experience, the surf beach of Medewi is a short hop away by car. A twenty minute stroll along the beach to the original fishing village of Pekutatan with its friendly residents is worthy of a visit and the fishermen can also take you on a morning fishing trip, after which our chefs can prepare your catch for dinner! Bicycles and motorcycles/mopeds are also available for rental. If the hills seem too much of a challenge, we can also drive you and your bikes up into a mountain village so that you can enjoy a leisurely downhill ride back to Kelapa Retreat! Since Bali has many attractive and incredible sights, the staff here are very happy to recommend proposals for full and half day tours. One example of a full day trip is to the neighbouring island of Jawa, in a four wheel drive through unspoiled tropical jungle to climb the Ijen volcano!
Highlights of KELAPA RETREAT are our four stunning, 100sqm, one-bedroom OCEAN-FRONT-VILLAS, taking pride of place closest to the beach and the pool. For families or small groups our two 2-bedroom OCEAN-VIEW-VILLAS are ideal, set on higher ground and looking out onto beautiful beach panoramas. The jewel of the retreat is the KELAPA RESIDENCE, a 6,000sqm two-bedroom villa that’s set aside from the rest of our villas for ultimate privacy and peace. With its own 20-metre infinity pool, two sun-bathing terraces and a spacious living room it is regularly booked for special occasions like weddings or conferences. All our villas make the most of the tropical surroundings, with a private balcony or terrace and garden or ocean views. Inside, the contemporary style is of dark, sleek furniture contrasting against a white palate, and a hint of Balinese culture in the art and soft furnishings. Master bedrooms all have king size beds, and living areas include a 2-inch flat-screen TV with DVD player, writing table, mini-bar and complimentary tea and coffee machine. Marble floors keep interiors cool, while the indoor bathrooms open up to an alfresco shower and tub.
