The Adiwana Hotel on Nusa Penida is a beautiful and modern hotel on the sea coast. The ocean view was stunning and the room was kept clean. The staff was always friendly and the included breakfast looked very tasty.
Unfortunately, I can't give all praise. Compared to other hotels in Nusa Penida, the Adiwana Hotel was quite expensive at over 100 euros per night (including breakfast). For this, one hoped for a lot of performance, which was not given.
The staff did not agree among themselves:
We requested a shuttle to the port the night before departure; the next day the staff knew nothing about it.
In addition, the road to the hotel was so bumpy and narrow that the Taxi- driver subsequently charged double the agreed price. This hotel is very remote in addition also not easy to reach and if you want to see something else of the island than the hotel itself, you are dependent on a vehicle. Scooters could be rented from the hotel, but even these rental prices were horrendous and the scooters in poor condition (no light in the dark, tank empty). In my opinion, the hotel has made additional profit by its remoteness through the rental of the scooters (on which one was dependent, however, to get away from the hotel).
The placemats were not washed, these looked not only dingy, but also stank terribly. Some of the food that you wanted to order was no longer available and the portions were relatively small. For another portion you had to pay extra although breakfast was included in the price.
We spent 4 nights in this hotel and never once received fresh towels. Also the hygiene items were not replenished. At least we received fresh water every day.
