The property sleeps 24 in total, with several different options & price points. All the guest mattresses are high-end CocoMat mattresses, renewable resource-based made without metal coils ... you'll sleep like royalty. Local, handmade amenities include olive oil soap infused with basil, lavender or sage and calendula face balm. The six luxury bedrooms in the main house can be either single or double occupancy. There is one room with a double bed (ideal for couple or single) and five rooms with two single beds. All have en-suite bathrooms and are air-conditioned with mosquito nets, wood paneled ceilings and views across the Ionian sea towards Kefalonia. Each bedroom has its own unique identity. The stone house studio is ideal for a couple or a luxurious single, with a double bed. The studio is light and spacious with an open bath tub and modern shower fittings hidden in a corner. A fireplace enhances the high ceiling, the French door with views to the sea is particularly beautiful with the evening sun shining through and another door leading to a shaded sitting area provides a flow of air. The shower outside is adds a touch of out-door living and especially refreshing after a long swim in the sea. The studio is fan cooled. The five Mongolian yurts are light and airy inside, sleeping one or two people. There are two luxury yurts with two single beds each and en suite bathrooms. One larger yurt offers two single beds an an en suite bathroom. Two of the yurts contain two single beds each, sharing indoor and outdoor bathrooms. They include comfortable beds with mosquito nets, plenty of shelving, and share an outdoor bathroom carved into the rocks, with a sea grass roof. Pathways and steps provide access to the yurt platforms, each with outdoor seating, positioned high among rocks and trees with beautiful sea views. Yurts are fan cooled, which will be very comfortable at this breezy & mild time of year.
Food at Itha108 is fresh, sumptuous and made up of local produce. All vegetables are organic and sourced from the best of what Ithaca and neighbouring Kefalonia has to offer. Plentiful, home-cooked menus blend traditional Greek & Meditarrean flavors with a contemporary style. For our retreat, mainly vegetarian food is featured, although freshly caught fish is available on request. Organic olive oil has been produced on Ithaca as long as anyone can remember. The olives are cold-pressed by the local press to preserve all their healthy qualities. This is a single press process, producing an oil that is pure and translucent, a beautiful pale green in color, slightly sweet to the taste because of its low acid content, a little peppery, and rich in Vitamin E. It's a perfect accompaniment for salads, pasta dishes or dipping in bread. We'll be dining overlooking the sea: * Breakfast buffet in the morning sun, shaded by trees * Lunch buffet under a pergola * Dinner is served on the terrace under a bright starry night sky. We can accommodate your special dietary requests such as vegan / gluten free. Let us know if you would like a vegetarian only menu, or the inclusion of fish / seafood.
The seven Ionian islands, which run from the bottom of the Adriatic to the Peloponnese, are amongst the greenest in Greece, studded with olive groves and vineyards. There's a distinct Italian feel to the Ionians, the imprint of medieval Venetian rule, yet each island has its own character. Ithaca (Ithaki), where our yoga retreat is taking place, is one of the smallest of the Ionian constellation. It's an unspoiled gem with pristine coves and sparkling clear waters. This is a picturesque island steeped in legend: it was the home of King Odysseus from Homer's ""The Odyssey."" This peaceful island offers plenty for adventurous types, boasting a magnificent 17 mile mountain range ideal for hikers and mountain bikers, as well as scuba diving, stand up paddle boarding and sea kayaking. There is a wide choice of beaches to suit all tastes. We'll be enjoying a delightful climate during our retreat. This is the most comfortable time to be on the Ionian Islands, with reliably sunny days, sea water ideal for swimming and water sports (23°C), and easy access to island infrastructure like ferry service & beach tavernas. Temperatures in late May / early June average at 23°C on Ithaca, climbing to highs of 26°C. Night-time temperatures rarely fall below 16°C. Wind speeds are usually no more than a moderate breeze in the afternoon and evening.
