Welcome to Achel bikram hot yoga & inferno pilates Bikram hot yoga is a series of 26 postures (asana) and two breathing exercises (pranayama), designed to promote total wellbeing through stretching and strengthening every system of the body in our heated studios. Inferno hot pilates is a challenging, full body, low impact, high intensity workout. It is performed on a yoga mat in a heated room. Hot pilates strengthens muscles and burns fat — all without the pounding of a high impact workout. It is designed for all fitness levels. About Bikram hot yoga Launched in 2009, Achel Bikram Yoga Auckland now has four experienced Bikram Yoga instructors on staff, with 3-6 classes running a day between Saturday and Thursday. Our modern, comfortable facilities include a lounge area with couches, magazines and a water cooler - ideal for relaxing before and after class. You’re welcome to make use of our spacious separate men’s and women’s bathroom and shower facilities, then spend some time chatting and socialising with your fellow classmates. Meet Ellen Adoko – founder of Achel Bikram Yoga, Auckland. “I wanted to create a yoga studio where people can feel at ease.” Born in Uganda, Ellen Adoko grew up in London before moving to New Zealand in 1999 in pursuit of her passion for sports and the outdoors. Having practiced yoga from a young age, she always had an affinity with the practice and a keen interest in health and wellbeing, but spread this enthusiasm across a wide range of sports including rugby, netball, soccer, swimming, running and cricket.
