Auckland Group Established in February 2008, the Auckland Diamond Way Buddhist Group is part of a network of more than 700 international lay meditation centres of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, under the spiritual guidance of the 17th Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje and founded by Lama Ole Nydahl. We are a non-for profit organisation and our group is run and maintained by volunteers, through their idealism and friendship. What we offer The Auckland group is searching for new premises and we are temporarily closed to the public. Once we found a new home to welcome friends and guests, we will again be offering regular meditation evenings, lectures and a monthly introduction to Buddhism. You will be able to try a brief guided group meditation, ask any questions around Buddhism and meditation, enjoy some refreshments and socialise afterwards. No prior knowledge or experience is required. Keep up to date with our activities by following our Facebook page and watch this space for updates on our exciting journey towards a new space for Diamond Way in Auckland! Teachers The Karma Kagyu lineage has been passed on from a realised teacher to student for over a thousand years. Having an authentic Buddhist teacher is essential to one’s development in the Vajrayana. The Kagyu lineage has many accomplished teachers as examples of enlightened activity. Their methods are accessible, providing a clear way to follow for any student wishing to practice and attain a similar result. Below are the main teachers that are relevant to the West.
