YIN THERAPY Kia ora! Welcome to Yin Therapy. Markus Henning Giess & Karin Michelle Sang are the co-founders and teachers of Yin Therapy, offering a 200 hour Yin Yoga & Anatomy Teacher Training course as well as yin yoga retreats, workshops and immersions in Europe and Australasia in the lineage of their primary teachers Paul Grilley together with his wife Suzee. Yin Therapy courses promise to shed light on the yin side of yoga, make anatomy fun and informative, and give you an in-depth understanding into individual bone structure and the tools to tailor an asana practice for each and every unique and individual yogi. What is Yin Yoga? In the quietude lies the power and out of the quietude arises the power. (Confucius) Yin Yoga – the quiet practice – draws our focus inwards, to connect to the true essence of ourselves. As the pace in which we live, work and play becomes increasingly faster, finding stillness and a sense of equilibrium becomes harder and harder. We learn to accumulate the subtle energy flow (chi flow) and to feel the enhanced energy flow in meridians. The stillness of the long held yin poses enables us to manipulate the flow of energy creating a deep level of calmness, focus and equanimity. Markus Henning Giess Markus’s first introduction to yoga was with Power Yoga rock star Bryan Kest, with whom he completed a 350 hour teacher training in Mexico before encountering Yin Yoga with the unique and wonderful Paul & Suzee Grilley. Since then he is a passionate yinster having completed several Yin Yoga teacher trainings with Paul and Suzee, and with whom he also assists on their trainings. Karin Michelle Sang Karin is a proud Kiwi (New Zealander) who returned home to Middle Earth after living and working in Europe for 23 years. She was first introduced to yoga in 1999 while living in Berlin, Germany. She rocked up to the closest studio in the neighbourhood knowing nothing about yoga and immediately fell in love with it.
