Welcome Bath Iyengar Yoga Centre
The Centre for Yoga excellence in the heart of Bath. We offer three fully equipped yoga studios, changing facilities, yoga library, pleasant garden and consulting/therapy room for hire to complementary therapists.
Centre directors, Kirsten and Richard Agar Ward, have over 55 years’ IYENGAR Yoga teaching experience between them. Both senior pupils of BKS Iyengar they each hold the highest Iyengar certificate – Senior level 3 – which can be awarded in the UK, and are the most senior teachers in the region. All teachers at the Centre are fully qualified and experienced and committed to ongoing professional development. The Centre is proud to be affiliated to the Iyengar Yoga Association of the UK.
Our Centre offers a warm, clean and peaceful haven in which you can embark on your yogic journey.Bath Iyengar Yoga Centre was established in 2000 by husband and wife team Richard and Kirsten Agar Ward. Since then it has gone from strength to strength and has developed into a vibrant centre for excellence in yoga in the south west.
We offer weekly classes in asana (posture) and pranayama (breath & energy control), weekend workshops, intensives and teacher training at the Centre. You can also join us on our yoga retreats in the Dales and yoga holidays abroad. We even have a shop selling yoga props, clothing and books.
The Centre has three fully equipped yoga studios so there is no need to bring your equipment (though you are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer).
Delicious vegetarian evening meals on Friday & Saturday will be prepared by Darel of Peak Yoga Centre and served at the Dent Memorial Hall a couple of minutes’ walk from the Meditation centre. We will do our best to meet your special dietary requirements – please let us know. Dent has several cafes and pubs serving food.
By car – Dent is easily accessible from Junction 37 of M6 or A65 or A1. By train. On the main West coast line alight at Oxenholme (16 miles away) & take s taxi or bus. Or take the scenic Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line, alight at Dent Head (4 miles away) – unstaffed so you will need to pre-arrange onward travel.
