WHAT IS AYURVEDA?

The science of Life or Ayurveda discipline on a theory that universe is made of five primordial elements, namely earth, air, fire, water and ether. These elements themselves are life-less, but in combination, produce three main biological forces or doshas in the human body, called Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha.

Ayurveda heals us by bringing back into balance of the doshas according to our balance at our birth then symptoms of dis-ease are reversed and disappeared. Beautiful location. Good rooms. I was there room only.therefore cant comments for the food. Only issues is front office. Communication is bad. This hotel can take next level easily with good staff. Take this comment as a positive and develop the hotel. Tks

We were coaxed in by the owner on a walk from our hotel. We were so hot and thirsty and there wasn’t much around in the way of cafes/restaurants so thought we’d give it a try. Very pleasant setting over the lagoon and delicious food. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food and service. Salad was so delicious as was the club sandwich. It’s not somewhere we would have gone into as it’s not obvious that the restaurant exists. All you see are gem stores! Would definitely visit again.

We can not describe how lucky we were to spend two nights in this resort. The first thing you face is a highly welcoming co-operative dedicated staff with infectious enthusiasm to please you and serve you. The location on the lake makes it a wonderful place for those who seek romantic atmosphere or a highly tranquil site. Rooms are surrounded by gardens with birds singing. The restaurants offer varieties of dishes suitable for every taste but mainly traditional delicious Sri Lankan dishes which tastes authentic. The site is close to the town if you were interested to have a walk and make some shopping. Free Wi-Fi is available. It is highly recommended. It was our first visit to Sri Lanka and we decided to stay in this site when we come back

I was there for two weeks for panchakarma which I book through Spadreams. Treatments lasts for nearly two hours daily with Ayurvedic medicine prescribed by doctor. I found the treatments are more like normal spa and not panchakarma which I was quite disappointed. Food was ok more variety would be great. Staff in dining room are super nice very polite and take your requests attentively. Room boy were good but a bit much on tip hunting. The manager who never walk around to greet guest and whose duty is to say no on any special request from customers. For example we all receive free seafood dinner plate from the hotel restaurant which is located on the other side of the building on our last night. As a vegetarian I requested to change seafood for a vegetarian meal (they have lots of veg pasta / noodles dishes on the menu) and he said NO if I want vegetarian food go back and have my Ayurveda food. Then I ask if I could change seafood plate for fruit juice and he said NO. To me this doesn't make sense at all. He just refused without reason. Quite upset with him and I feel sorry for the hotel too. In the end the guest relations officer help me talk with him and I was able to get my juice but the manager ordered me to have it in my room and not in the restaurant this time I was furious and Insisted to have juice in the restaurant as it has got great view. My fellow traveler who checked out earlier had problems with the manager too. The resort is not on the beach but about 300 meters away.

When we arrived at the AIDA Resort we were warmly welcomed by the hotel crew. Our suitcases were brought to our rooms, we could directly enter. Lunch buffet was ready for us as well. We came to this place to have a good time and relax and not for an Ayurveda treatment, so our expectations were fully met. The food is really good and healthy. Two super weeks for stress relief and health. :) We enjoyed the free program like the village tour (driver was really nice), temple tour,yoga and meditation. The Yoga instructor is a good man a teacher, who has a great social and good professional competence. Even I as a fitness instructor myself liked to learn new movements and exercises. The service team does the best to fulfill every wish.
