TripAdvisor Review
Ayurveda Retreat-Plantation Villa, Kalutara, is a remarkable natural oasis with astonishing flora and fauna, offering both accommodation and natural foods and drinks mostly based on the Plantation produce, and if needed (which I strongly recommend) a personalised program of treatments suggested by an ayurvedic doctor that sees you and listens to you on your arrival day and progressively checks the results of treatments on you. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of my room and the surrounding environment, the perfect organization of the schedules (I also very much enjoyed Pryiantha's early morning yoga lessons, and a short swimming before breakfast and the relaxing and very pleasant intensive massages and other special treatments carried out by Roshan, who is in charge of the place when Ishara, the young but very skillful manageress and owner of the Plantation, is not on the spot though constantly in touch via email or phone and ready to mediate in case of problems or give advice to meet any needs. I had one with Roshan due to a linguistic misunderstanding that was quickly settled. The atmosphere is peaceful and all the staff, including three women coordinated by the gentle Lalitha, are caring and constantly ready to please you and make you feel comfortable in any possible way. Another astonishing thing is that you get meals not at set times but when YOU feel hungry! Where else can you get that? I do believe the Plantation and its facilities are worth a journey to Sri Lanka, that is why I strongly recommend it to all my friends and anybody loving a close contact with unpolluted nature and oneself. If you are interested in enjoying excursions the House can help and when wanted you are also provided with a modern A/C car and driver, of course with extra charges, the same happens if you need transport from and to Colombo airport, which, and I appreciated that, is never an obbligation. You feel totally free to make your own choices. I think I'll repeat this experience again and again, whenever I can afford.
