The hotel villa is a colonial home, approximately 150yrs old. It was the house of the village chief - and it now converted to consists of a living room, dinning hall, veranda, open living area and eight bedrooms. The property consists of the main Villa and the Lodge, each about 2 minutes walking distance from each other. The Lodge is the original house of the first occupier of this colonial treasure. With time, their son built a bigger home to house his expanding family. This is the Villa. The Villa consists of 8 rooms (2 Suite Rooms and 6 Deluxe Rooms) and the Dining Hall, Lounge, Verandahs and Spa. The Lodge consists of 6 Standard rooms and an open Verandah. Both the Villa and the Lodge were renovated in end 2015 and is decorated to contemporary colonial style in keeping with the age of the property and to meet our guest comforts and modern needs. OUR GUEST ROOMS Our guest rooms categories are as follows: Standard Rooms - All of our standard rooms are in the Lodge and they all open in to a beautiful open verandah. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. The rooms have fans but they are not air conditioned. Deluxe Rooms - All of our deluxe rooms are in the Villa and they also all open in to a beautiful open verandah. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. Unlike the standard rooms, Deluxe rooms are air conditioned. Suite Rooms - We have two Suite Rooms which are in the Villa and they open in to a beautiful front verandah within the main Villa. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. The Suite Room bathrooms have both a Shower and a Bath. Both Suite Rooms are air conditioned. All rooms include: - Ensuite WC and Shower (Suite Rooms also includes a bath) - Hot water - Ceiling Fans (Deluxe and Suite Rooms include Air Conditioners) - Modern facilities - Essential cosmetics (eg Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel etc) Other hotel facilities include: - Inner garden - Outer garden - Organic Paddy field, Vegetable, Herb, Spice and Fruit garden - Pool - Plantation - Ayurvedic Spa - Cycles for exploring the village - Day trips and longer tours for those interested in touring Sri Lanka.
The food at Plantation Villa Sri Lanka is delicious, healthy, and locally sourced. The retreat's expert chefs create a variety of Ayurvedic dishes using fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown in the resort's own gardens.
Guests can benefit from a range of healthy meal plans, including vegetarian, vegan, and Ayurvedic diets, to support their wellness goals.
Plantation Villa Sri Lanka is located approximately 1.5 hours from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo. We offer private airport transfers for our guests at the following rates:
● £55 per car for one-way transfer (up to 3 people)
● £110 per van for one-way transfer (up to 6 people)
We recommend that guests book their transfers at least 72 hours in advance to ensure availability. Please note that the above rates are subject to change without prior notice.
Alternatively, guests can also take the train from Colombo to Kalutara and then hire a tuk-tuk to reach Plantation Villa Sri Lanka. This can be a convenient and affordable option for those who prefer to travel by public transport.
