For the public it offers introductory classes, several weekly Kriya Hatha Yoga classes, and initiation seminars in Babaji’s Kriya Yoga. For Kriya Yoga initiates it also offers regular satsang meetings. We Are Building New Babaji’s Kriya Yoga Ashram in Colombo, Sri Lanka Babaji’s Kriya Yoga Order of Acharyas Trust in Sri Lanka has recently received approval of its architectural plans and building permits for a new ashram in central Colombo, Sri Lanka. Preparations for this have been developing for the past several years ever since the government decided to build a highway along the coast where the former ashram stood from 1980 to 2018. The construction of the former beachfront ashram in Dehiwala, just south of Colombo, began when M. G. Satchidananda lived there in in 1980 and 1981 and was conceived and supported by Yogi S.A.A. Ramaiah. A devotee in Sri Lanka has graciously offered to loan the funds required to build the new ashram on land which the father of Acharya Kriyanandamayi has donated for this purpose. A groundbreaking ceremony occurred on Friday 10th September the auspicious Ganesh Chathurthi day at around 7 a.m. In preparation, the previous days there was an Abhishekam to Babaji and Yagna fire ceremony, Construction started on 20th September 2021 and ends in October 2022 Who is Babaji? In 1946, Paramahansa Yogananda, one of modern India's greatest yogis, revealed in his classic Autobiography of a Yogi, the existence of a Christ-like saint, an immortal yogi, Mahavatar Babaji. Yogananda related how Babaji had for centuries lived in the Himalayas guiding many spiritual teachers at a distance, usually without their even knowing it.
