In recent decades, brain research in two areas, mindfulness and compassion, has shown that we have malleable brains. Mental exercises such as mindfulness training and meditation can strengthen qualities such as focus, awareness, compassion and the ability to manage our emotions. Meditation makes us less stressed, kinder to ourselves and others, sleep better, experience less worry and anxiety, feel more joy and satisfaction, and become more creative or mentally efficient. Research has also shown that our own well-being is dependent on us developing compassion for ourselves and others. Our goal at Yeshin Norbu is to make mindfulness and compassion meditation techniques available to everyone. Just as we go to the gym to train the body physically, we want to contribute to a revolution where mind training and meditation become a natural part of life to take care of our brains and minds. There are many prejudices surrounding meditation. That it is something fuzzy, or that it is something that only has to do with religion. But they are actually scientifically proven methods that help us find more happiness and well-being in life. Which helps us to be kinder to ourselves and others. Just as jogging gives you better fitness no matter what you believe, meditation gives you better mental focus, relaxation and clarity.
