Jayaprada Radhika
Called to the ancient mysticism of the east, Jayaprada Radhika has absorbed deeply in the profound wisdom of the eastern way of life, during time living in temples for 5 years, and has been studying and teaching yoga throughout the Himalayas, Vrindavan and other holy places across and around the globe.
She has been involved in various advertising campaigns as an ambassador for health and wellness including for the acclaimed Yoga Woman Film and has some published written work in Bhakti Yoga Magazines. She was the leading yoga therapist for NZ’s Olympic athletes and the Australian Federal Police, and is the Global membership Director and Yoga ambassador for Food for Life Global http://www.ffl.org.
Drawing on 20 years of body work coming from a classical ballet and martial arts background she committed deeply to the ashtanga yoga path under the guidance of Sri R.B Swamiji who travelled and taught with yoga saints of the 70’s, including his main Guru Swami Muktananda. After Swami Muktanandas passing he then resided with Jnana / knowledge masters high in the Himalayas while they were still accessible. She feels he shared with her aspects to breath, alignment and the depth of the eighth limb ashtanga path that she has not found any where else.
The knowledge and realisations from her years living in temples which pertain to yoga beyond the physical practice also, and the deep and unchanged roots of ashtanga as shared by the sages many thousands of years ago, are her main inspirations for developing the Radhika Yoga curriculum, as she feels the essence of yoga is widely lost in today’s commercial yoga industry. She is passionate about sharing the ancient secrets of Yoga, in it’s profound and multifaceted forms.
NZ born, Radhika has been based in for the past two years hosting the Radhika Yoga Teacher Training Immersions and Retreats. Prior to this she was teaching throughout Australasia for a decade. Her Guruji His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami, continues to be a source of spiritual grounding, and inspires her in sharing the deeper aspects of yoga revealed in the legacy of Vedic / Yogic literature. You may see her birth name written in French as Jolie. After receiving Diksa initiation and Gurujis blessings she was given the sanskrit name Jayaprada Radhika Devi Dasi meaning ‘The giver of spiritual victory’, and is now known by many as Radhika.
