We enjoy yoga. We want to do something different. That is how Ananda Iyengar Yoga Centre in Koh Phangan came into existence, which allows us to make this a reality. Lothar Ìs journey on the path of holistically comprehended Yoga began in the year 2001. After 8 years of intensive learning and practice, he could teach others and has been doing so ever since. He received his training from distinguished experts, particularly Usha Devi (Rishikesh, India) and Zubin Zarthoshtimanesh (Mumbai, India), but also from further teachers of Iyengar Yoga with many years of experience. Continuous learning in his Yoga style demands that he regularly return to the Iyengar Institute in Pune to take part in the instruction given by the Iyengar family. This continuous process not only offers ever further insight, it is to him a part of his vision, in which life, love and spirit come together in harmony. His courses stress the important points of healthy breathing and exact body posture, while sometimes using aids to achieve these. The style of his instruction is intuitive and promotes the hidden abilities of his students while at the same time challenging them to reach beyond their perceived limits. He is a dynamic, inspiring Yoga teacher who infuses every session of instruction with energy, humor and philosophy. How we do Yoga A Look into our Yoga classes in Koh Phangan & Arambol Asana The therapeutic aspects of Asanas and Pranayama have been known for centuries. Two key aspects of asana practice within the Iyengar system are sequencing and duration. By practicing asanas in a particular sequence, a powerful cumulative effect can be achieved. Regarding the aspect of duration, postures are held for considerable lengths of time to allow the effects to sink deeper into the practicing individual. Pranayama Pranayama improves your health in many ways. Pranayama should only begin after a firm foundation in the asanas has been established, as it demands the alignment, flexibility, lung capacity and training necessary to sit and breathe correctly while practicing.
