The idea for Island Yoga was born in 2005 when we heard stories of an enchanted island in southern Thailand that the modern world had yet to discover. Finding an island rich in tradition and culture that also has many recreation opportunities, we realized we had discovered the ideal setting for the unique fusion of spiritual seeking and sublime nature that is Island Yoga retreats.
Now the fun and light is expanding as our community grows. Our focus is to raise consciousness, promote holistic lifestyles and encourage personal empowerment through meaningful retreats and amazing adventures…in one of the most stunning places on earth!!
A Return to Simplicity
Attending an Island yoga retreat is to experience a return to simplicity .Life and yoga on enchanted Koh Yoa Noi with its friendly locals and outstanding natural beauty provides a holistic experience that both rejuvenates the body and restores emotional balance.
Full Spectrum Yoga - Transforming Body Mind &Soul
Our “Full Spectrum†yoga offers a unique blend of practices that includes asana, pranayama, Chi Gong, mantras, guided meditations and insight discussions. Immersion into the 3-5-7 day (or longer) programs facilitates a progressive spiritual awakening with the emphasis on transformation. Our hope is that you sense a move toward greater creativity, increased self-awareness and deeper purpose in life. Obviously the benefits increase during a longer retreat, but students often feel remarkable shifts while attending the 3 and 5 day programs.

Affordable Retreats
Hosting affordable programs is an important aspect of the Island Yoga mission. We have managed to keep costs down with a distinct “No Frills†approach. Our base at the Nature Lodge resort is owned by a local Thai family and the accommodations are clean, quiet and comfortable. We have created an environment where students can experience an authentic and fun yoga community while still having the opportunity to immerse deeply into their practices.
Our Bungalows We have 4 types of accommodations to choose from. For the cost conscious traveler there are dorm beds and private rooms in our budget house. Our comfort bungalows are more spacious with a fan, hot shower and mosquito net, while the a/c bungalows add a little more luxury to the retreat experience. Click here for our rates. When we are full at the Nature Lodge, students stay in one of the nearby lodges a few minutes’ walk from the yoga sala. All the resorts we use are of a similar standard to Nature Lodge and all are situated either on the beach or a one-minute walk from the beach.
All yogis take the delicious and hearty breakfast at the lodge. You can also order snacks, shakes, lunch and dinner at the lodge or visit other restaurants in the village and around the island. You can order vegetarian options to most items on the local restaurant menus. There is a water station at the restaurant where you can refill your water bottles.
