PILATES

Pilates conditions all your muscles in a balanced way and increases your self-awareness by drawing your focus inward. It offers relief from back pain and joint stress; corrects over-trained muscles groups; compliments sports training; develops functional fitness for your daily life activities and offers a faster return to pre-pregnancy figures. Pilates is for people of all ages, aptitudes and fitness levels!The adage of “healthy body, healthy mind” is as true today as it has always been. In 1945, Joseph H. Pilates wrote: “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness…the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many and varied tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.” Through its holistic approach, the Pilates method targets the interior structure of the body to bring benefits to the outside.

In Abu Dhabi’s only, fully-equipped, Pilates studio, we are able to offer you the finest, in personal training, small group classes on the mat and various informative workshops. Our unique approach to health and wellness will meet your needs for physical fitness, post rehab and sports specific conditioning.

These group mat sessions provide a challenging workout and reinforce and improve upon techniques learnt in the Mat classes. This class moves at a faster pace and incorporates exercises from the intermediate & advanced repertoire of STOTT Pilates. Please note that these classes are only open to intermediate students.

Our teachers have a personalized approach to yoga focusing on individual well being and relaxation of the body, mind and soul. All of our highly trained and caring teachers are keen to assist anyone needing direction or information and are open to comments, ideas and feedback.

Our classes:

We have many classes to choose from for varying levels, and as we believe that yoga is for everyone, we’d like to assist you in finding the practice that suits you. Our classes foster Sangha (Community), as well as compassionate enquiry of your own path.

Ashtanga: Is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures – a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Beginner Yoga: This class builds your foundations to join any style of yoga.

Gentle Yoga: A mindful, soothing and energizing class with emphasis on being present in your body, breath and mind. Alignment, inward focus and hands-on assisting are tools used in this class.

Hatha: Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.

Hatha Flow: This class is a more dynamic version of the Hatha Yoga class where the transitions between asanas (postures) are more fluid and aligned with the breath.
