I started Molte Wellness & Adventure in 2012 to pour my time and energy into creating opportunities to share the things I love and make me happy living in Big Sky country. My hope was that doing so would bring happiness into others’ lives too. Creating a ripple effect... Happier people, happier communities and, ultimately, a happier world. Having spent decades in the hospitality and snowsports industry in Montana I saw time and again how it wasn’t the exquisitely prepared meal nor the foot of fresh powder that was the magic causing visitors to fall in love with Montana. It was the opportunity to step away from daily distractions and to-do lists and simply be. This letting go allows you to find grace in the present moment. It allows the beauty and bounty of nature to surround you and nourish you at a very deep level. It refills your cup so you can return to that to-do list with a greater sense of ease, clarity and purpose. This is what I want to offer through Molte Wellness & Adventures retreats and programs. And, for me, the best way to to do this is through trail running, hiking and yoga (what great metaphors for life as we go over, under, around and through obstacles on the trail and in our minds) along with good food and the company of others. Living, learning, loving and laughing. Everyday. Turi Hetherington, MWA Founder why molte? Molte is the Norwegian word for cloudberries, brightly colored, delicate, yet hardy little berries that grow in the highland mountains of Norway. Paying homage to her Norwegian heritage and the land of fjords, waterfalls, and the midnight sun, Molte Yoga Retreat owner, Turi Hetherington, chose this to symbolize the abundance, beauty, and grace of nature. Just like the human spirit, these berries require the perfect balance of sun, mountain air, and inspirational surroundings in order to thrive.
