Revitalizing and relaxing, yoga reduces the effects of stress we experience in our society. Therapeutic in nature, yoga can help alleviate physical problems by bringing back balance to the whole system. Yoga is compatible and enhancing to all athletic endeavors.
Using Hatha Yoga instruction in the style developed by B.K.S. lyengar, author of "Light on Yoga", focus will be equally on the practice of deep relaxation as well as "meditation in action".
Rick brings his training of anatomy and the heart opening experience of the yoga practice to his high quality instruction. Also influencing his teaching is his love and experience in nature (wilderness canoeing, trekking, and skiing).
Rick Lynch, E- RYT 500 [Registered Yoga Teacher with over 500 hrs of training] is a yoga teacher’s teacher. He has studied, practiced and experienced Yoga for over 30 years with a focus since 1985 in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar. He has trained and still continues his study with Francois Raoult and other senior teachers around the world.
Since 1989 Rick has taught locally and internationally, leading many trips to Thailand and for yoga vacations and retreats. He has conducted classes at Open Sky Yoga in Rochester since 1989, at his studio Finger Lakes Yoga in Canandaigua since 1993, and at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua since 2000. Since 2007, Rick has co-evolved yoga programs for Wegman’s.
