There are very negative reviews of Triple Gem you can find on Google. Some of them are centered on purity, or the lack of it, that reviewers are looking for at Triple Gem. One person indicated he expected to see the monks walking about town with a begging bowl in hand. Or, there are complaints that the monks have a car or cell phones. I'd ask people to think about the goal of an organization like Triple Gem and the reality of how to make those goals a reality. Triple Gem provides a place for people to gather and meditate. It offers an opportunity to get good teaching on the practice of Vipassana and lovingkindness from a monk (bhante) with years of experience and learning. As to making these goals happen, can you imagine trying to organize and respond to people without a cell phone in today's world? As for monks having access to a car, I've seen a Toyota Corolla. It appears to be in good condition and I think most would say it's a practical choice. Leave the criticism behind and stop by. Sit down on the cushion and observe your breath. Then you can judge from your own experience. Thanks for your time.
