Bikram Yoga, the original hot yoga, is a sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room. The postures are designed to build strength, flexibility, and balance. Through compression and extension, fresh oxygenated blood is flushed throughout the body to promote detoxification and optimum health. We work the body from the inside out. This 90 minute practice is for EVERYONE. It is designed so that people of all ages and abilities can participate. Bikram Yoga Exton is conveniently located on Rt. 113 at Rt. 100, very close to the Downingtown exit on the PA turnpike. The studio is a modern facility with both mens’ and womens’ locker rooms WITH SHOWERS! We all know it can be a little scary to try something new and we all remember our first class. Remember, Bikram Yoga is for EVERYONE regardless of age or ability, and beginners are welcome in every class. All of our classes are the same and all classes are 90 minutes long. Class consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The teacher will talk you through the postures step by step, and you work to your own ability. You do not need to register ahead of time, simply come to the class you want to attend. Do be sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to the start of class so you can fill out some paperwork and talk to the teacher. You will need to wear comfortable clothes that you can sweat in, and you’ll need a yoga mat, a towel, and water. If you don’t have these, they are available for purchase or rent at the studio. It’s best to be well hydrated before class. Be patient. It can take some time to get used to the heat, but before long you will crave the hot room and how wonderful it makes you feel!
