The center welcomes people from all faiths and those who do not subscribe to any faith. You do not have to be Buddhist to take part in the classes or to benefit from them.
Which classes should I start with?
All general program classes are ideal for beginners and experienced meditators alike. Classes may include topics like overcoming stress and anxiety, improving relationships, gaining peace of mind, learning to love, and dealing with anger. No previous experience in meditation is necessary.
What is the class format?
Classes include a brief guided meditation, practical advice on how to apply Buddhist principles into your daily life and then a second guided meditation to gain a deeper understanding, allowing time to take the advice to heart. There is also time for discussion and questions.
Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend classes?
No, all you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your mind and life. You don’t have to be Buddhist to gain benefit from meditating and putting the advice into practice in daily life.
How should I dress for class?
There is no special clothing needed for these meditation classes. Chairs and cushions are available.
Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?
Feel free to drop in to any of the classes in a series. Attending the entire series of classes is highly beneficial as each class builds on the next. However, each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend one class, you will still derive benefit from it.
