Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center (KMEC) in Pahoa, Hawaii, offers a wonderful spiritual uplifting environment to heal and grow. From Kona (KOA) Airport: KMEC is a nice 2.5 to 3 hour scenic drive from Kona Airport, halfway around the Island of Hawai’i, “the Big Island”, via either the northern route or the newly finished Saddle road passing Mauna Kea. Make a left out of the Kona Airport and drive north on Route 19. Continue on Route 19 through Waimea, down the Hamakua coast (still Route 19) until you get to Hilo. Past the waterfront side of town, make a right onto Highway 11 at Ken’s House of Pancakes (sign says Volcano 30 miles). Turn left onto HI-11 / Hawaii Belt Road / Kanoelehua Avenue and go about 5.9 miles. Turn left onto HI-130 / Keaau Pahoa Bypass Road continuing to HI-130 and go about 12.2 miles. Turn left onto HI-132 Kapoho Road and go about 2.7 miles. Continue, staying to the right, onto Pohoiki Road and go about 3.8 miles. KMEC Hawaii will be on the left.
