My name is Shauntel and I am the founder and instructor of Golden Yoga.
I am so honored to be a part of your practice.
My personal practice evolved from seeking deep anxiety and stress relief. I no longer wanted to feel out of control or lost. Having these (almost) daily meetings with myself on my mat opened my eyes to what was really going on with me -- there was a disconnect that I finally recognized and wanted to mend. I decided to study the philosophy of yoga and begin a career in teaching after successfully graduating from my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) program. After gaining experience teaching group classes and corporate yoga, I decided to go one step further in my teaching and travel to India. There, I completed an advanced 300 hour teaching training. It was a physically and emotionally demanding experience. Eventually I will write a blog post or create a video diary about my time studying in India. What I will say is that the education I received was beautifully guided and immeasurably deep. I am trained to guide you through physical yoga, meditation, pranayama, and Ayurveda. I am excited to continue this journey and I look forward to returning to India in the future.
Through Golden Yoga, my goal is to share what I have learned in hopes that you will find different elements of yoga to add to your personal practice, your life. I provide the techniques and practices, and you decide which ones make your mind, body, and spirit feel energized and healthy. I know how yoga as a system has helped me develop my own personal practice, and I am confident it can help you, too.
