Paia Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission, in lower Paia, was founded by the Reverend Sokyo Ueoka of Hiroshima, Japan on November 11, 1906.
Located on a picturesque site overlooking the sea on the northeast coast of Maui, you will find a beautiful temple structure that has been put on the national and state historic registry, a cemetery and columbarium, a bell tower, a memorial monument, and a Japanese Zen Garden.
Family services for worship are open to the public. And memorial services honoring our deceased loved ones, wedding ceremonies, blessing ceremonies, and counseling are services that are available to everyone.
Please contact the temple and the resident minister will be happy to meet and talk with you. If you have any questions on Buddhism, Zen, or anything else, Please contact us.
