It’s free and you’ll be able to view our daily schedule, buy punch cards, and check for class changes/cancellations. Our studio is conveniently located in downtown Palmer right on main street. There is ample street side parking and more parking behind the studio where you can enter from the back door. Our doors typically open 20-15 minutes before classes start. Please be aware of the class schedule so you don’t arrive too early and interrupt the class in session.
Mission
Our mission as Midnight Sun Yoga Center, LLC is to create a safe, affordable, and joyful place for yoga, meditation, and wellness/fitness practice in the community; to give back to the Palmer community through volunteering, participating in events, and partnering with other local businesses; and to establish our company as a community center for bettering the lives of our residents by promoting healthy and holistic living with dedicated, yogic minded teachers. We are yoga for the community, and through membership benefits and community events, we hope to establish Palmer as a healthy and joyful place to live, work, and recreate. Yoga Dictionary ANJALI (Mudra) anjali
The Anjali mudra (prayer hands) is a hand posture commonly used during the practice of yoga, the drawing together of one’s palms at the heart. Not only for the opening and closing of the class but it can also be applied to some other postures. The beauty of this gesture, which positions us right at the core of our being, is timeless and universal. ASANAS Also called Yoga Postures or poses; Asanas are gentle stretching movements designed to help balance the mind and body. Patanjali in ashtanga yoga defines asanas as Steady and Comfortable pose. ASHTANGA YOGA
A Style of Yoga developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, it literally means Eight Limb Yoga and revolves around Pattanjali’s idea that the path of purification is composed of eight spiritual practices. Bandha may be defined as a particular focused and intentional action involving pressure, contraction or force on the muscles or some other bodily or sensate phenomena. In yogic traditions,bandha are to be studied, maintained and held principally whilst engaged in pranayama.
