Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results. There are no charges for the courses - not even to cover the cost of food and accommodation. All expenses are met by donations from people who, having completed a course and experienced the benefits of Vipassana, wish to give others the opportunity to also benefit.

Getting to Rockford Van Galder: (800) 747-0994 and (815) 399-0092, station at 7559 Walton St. Van Galder runs buses between Rockford, IL and O’Hare and Midway airports, as well as Union Station in downtown Chicago, Janesville, Beloit & Madison. Getting from Rockford to the center: C and W Transport is our new preferred shuttle service. The cost is $30 for one passenger, and $20 for each additional passenger from the Clock Tower Resort (formerly the Best Western Clock Tower) directly to Dhamma Pakasa. It is very helpful to call in advance and make a reservation. They will take up to 4 students each time. Please note that they accept only cash. Their contact number is 815-978-6188. Therefore, we encourage students who are riding the bus into Rockford to list their names on the ride board. http://rides.server.dhamma.org/pakasa. Please use Rockford Clock Tower as your location. By contacting others on the board you can arrange to meet at the Clock Tower and share the cost of the shuttle. This same shuttle service is available at the end of courses to pick up students at the center and take them back to the Clock Tower Resort.
