Lindsay Nova often calls herself “a one-woman spiritual circus” and is known as a leading yoga teacher trainer worldwide. An internationally acclaimed performance artist, sought-after yoga instructor and world traveler, she is a firm believer in the wisdom of the body, the strength of the heart, and the power of the breath. After studying dance, yoga, and movement around the world, she has dedicated her life to being a creative mind-body educator and multidimensional performance artist, inspiring and empowering others to take charge of their lives and live their own dreams.
While her current primary focus is teaching yoga, she also holds a BFA in dance, choreography, and performance, in addition to certifications in Pilates and barre. She is also a Level 2 Reiki practitioner and regularly teaches yoga teacher trainings around the world. Her studies include Ashtanga, vinyasa, acro yoga, aerial yoga, yin, and restorative yoga as well as most recently kundalini and Iyengar yoga in Dharamsala, India.
Her teaching style is a fusion of contemporary movement with traditional wisdom, which always contains a spark of creativity (shakti!) with deep intention. She honors the body as a sacred vessel to explore this world with and uses her spiritual practice to help others peel away the layers of their being to understand their own personal power and role in life, or dharma. She bows deeply to all of her teachers for the wisdom and inspiration they have passed on to her, which she continues to ignite in others.
She teaches internationally with previous residencies at The Sanctuary Thailand, Talalla Retreat in Sri Lanka, Danyasa in Costa Rica, and Aqua Wellness Resort in Nicaragua. In the United States, she has taught yoga, Pilates, and barre in California, Florida, and Ohio in addition to her specially curated circus and aerial arts programs for children and adults. She has also created her own Hula Hoop Yoga fusion class, which she has taught at events such as Burning Man and Cosmic Convergence in Guatemala.
In 2018, she created her own aerial yoga teacher training curriculum called Rising Wings Aerial Yoga which is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education program. She has taught the program in 4 countries so far and is renowned in India for teaching her method to students who have gone on to set up aerial yoga studios in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad and conduct their own teacher trainings in areas like Goa. Additionally, she regularly teaches on 200-hour yoga trainings with Yogagati and has created her own school, Samanova Yoga. Sign up for a teacher training today!
