Welcome to Redding Center For Meditation.
Our mission is to help people of all faiths develop the self-awareness and inner peace necessary to live life in a skillful way.
Redding Center For Meditation for Mindfulness & Insight Meditation's mission is to help people develop the self-awareness and inner peace necessary to live life in a skillful way. The Society does this by providing a serene, contemplative space for the practice of insight meditation, under the gentle and experienced guidance of resident Buddhist monks, and in the context of a supportive community of fellow practitioners. The Society warmly welcomes novice and experienced practitioners of all faiths.
At the Meditation Society, our focus is experiential and does not require adherence to any kind of religious doctrine. We practice a form of insight meditation known as Mahasati meditation. Some of us have been practicing for many years and continue to reap the benefits of practice; others are just beginning. We are very fortunate to have an extremely knowledgeable ordained meditation master from Thailand in residence. We welcome all to join us.
Redding Center For Meditation Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your donations are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law. The use and operation of the Redding Meditation Center are made possible entirely by donations from our members.
We teach and practice a type of meditation known as Mahasati meditation. Maha Sati in Pali means great awareness. It is a form of Vipassana or Insight meditation that originates in Southeast Asia. Maha Sati meditation cultivates self-awareness initially through attention to the movement of the body and, at intermediate and more advanced levels, to the movement of the mind. This ultimately leads to a direct and profound understanding of the origins of suffering in human experience and points the way toward ultimate liberation. While Mahasati meditation has its roots in Buddhism, it is not necessary to accept any type of religious doctrine in order to practice. It is also possible to practice it conjointly with other forms of religious practice.
Redding Center For Meditation offers the following services:-
1) Mahasati Meditation Treatment
2) One-Day Retreats
3) Weekend Retreats
4) Dhamma Trainee Program
