The Dharana Method® is not only a simple meditation technique and lifestyle template for all skill levels and nationalities, but also a tribe of teachers and seekers. We aim to empower, train and support this tribe, while raising the collective consciousness with mindfulness education and events.
My mission is to give people the tools they need to observe and detox negative patterns, and finally feel at home in themselves.
- Founder, Amanda B. Jones
The Dharana Method® is a whole-life approach to being at peace. The Dharana Method utilizes tools including meditation, yoga, pranayama (breathing), Ayurveda (nourishment, behavioral, and detox practices), and manifestation (intentional living) to help you to stop identifying with negative thoughts, and teach you to regulate uncomfortable emotions.
Students of this method will experience:
Decreased anxiety, depression, and insomnia
Getting one's body out of “fight or flight” state, known to cause disease including cancer, chronic fatigue and obesity
Greater memory, focus and creativity
Better sex and relationships
Release of the body’s “feel-good” neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins
Decreased blood pressure and hypertension
Lowered cholesterol levels
Reduced production of “stress hormones” including cortisol and adrenaline
More efficient oxygen use by the body
Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA
Improved immune function
Spontaneous weightloss
Spiritual fulfillment
and much, much more!

Where did The Dharana Method® come from?
The Dharana Method® is a simple blend of ancient wisdom and science-based meditation & lifestyle training. Dhāraṇā is a Sanskrit word meaning single focus, or concentration. In a centuries-old (yet quite modernly practical) guide to inner peace called, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, DHARANA is the most important step for slipping into meditation. Because focus is a key part of any meditation, mastering dharana means you naturally become skilled at walking meditation, breathing meditation, mantra meditation, Buddhist meditation, Vedic meditation and virtually any other meditation out there!
During a struggle with depression and a back injury, the method's founder Amanda B. Jones, realized that it was much easier to slip into the gap between thoughts (a saying of her teacher, Deepak Chopra) when she used a point of focus in meditation. After just a few weeks utilizing this process of meditation, along with having the focus to live an Ayurvedic lifestyle, Amanda experienced mastery over her emotions and physical body (along with spontaneous weight loss!), and developed a newfound sense of gratitude and purpose.
Many people of all nationalities, spiritual backgrounds and experience levels have had this same success with The Dharana Method®, and it is our intention that you will, too! This is why we have made it our mission to educate and support students virtually or in-person, at your local studio, and in the workplace, with our variety of programs.
