Welcome to Princeton Center for Yoga And Health
Featured as one of the top five traditional yoga studios in New Jersey by New Jersey Life magazine, Princeton Center for Yoga & Health (also known as Princeton Yoga and PCYH) is an independently owned and operated yoga and holistic health center located just 10 minutes from downtown Princeton. Established in 1996, PCYH was the first yoga center in this area and is honored that the community continues to look to the Center for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. A full schedule of yoga classes, holistic programs, training seminars and services are offered mornings, evenings and weekends. All teachers and practitioners have been rigorously trained and certified.
Our Center has 2 light-filled and spacious studios with bamboo floors, a smaller room for small groups and private sessions or meditation practice, a small shop with free tea and selected yoga related, gift items and essential oils for sale and lovely grounds including an outside patio for lunch break, large lawn space and a gathering space with a fire pit for other outside activities.
We focus primarily on the yoga of physical postures, Hatha Yoga, offering classes in Ashtanga, Iyengar- influenced, Kripalu, Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Vinyasa Krama, and Yin Yoga traditions. They all increase flexibility, enhance strength, boost stamina, and increase awareness of our bodies and ourselves as we release muscle tension, create a sense of calm and peace, and feel rejuvenated. One is distinguished from another in how postures are taught and sequenced, and integrated with other yogic disciplines such as breath control (pranayama) and meditation. We encourage students to sample styles and teachers. Our schedule also includes meditation, breath control (pranayama), Aerial/Swing Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yoga for Core Strength, Yoga for Stress Reduction, concerts, drumming circles, teacher trainings, and more.
Here at PCYH, yoga is not simply a form of exercise, it is a life practice. By establishing a regular practice, you can realize a deepening connection with your spirit. Each class deepens your connection to your true self. We recommend that you sample a variety of approaches and teachers. Mix a softer, more inner-directed style (Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga) with one that’s moderate or vigorous (Vinyasa Flow, Hot Yoga). Or, try a specialty class like Aerial/Swing Yoga. If you’re not sure which class to take, you’ve got options! Call us for a personalized recommendation, or use the sampler package or pass option and pick classes that fit your schedule.
For those who might like to stay over in the area during the program weekends, we have a special arrangement with the Doubletree-Hilton Princeton.
